As we age the skin becomes thinner and is more susceptible to damage caused by pressure injuries, skin tears and ulcers. It is important to understand ways in which injuries to the skin can be prevented and to be familiar with how to enhance wound healing by creating an optimal environment in the wound so the body can heal itself.
