Targeted Training Strategies

A thorough gap analysis is instrumental in identifying organisational risks that education and training may be appropriate to mitigate. L&D teams can then create informed, targeted training strategies. This process allows L&D teams to pinpoint where training is most needed and ensures that educational efforts are both efficient and effective.

Standard 5 - Clinical Care

Standard 5 of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards is notably the most comprehensive among the Strengthened Standards. Written in conjunction with the Australian Commission on Quality and Safety in Healthcare, it contains a significant number of high—and moderate-risk clinical care educational requirements that, if addressed appropriately, should genuinely improve the clinical care of older people.

Education to Reduce Harm

Watch this video to hear Zoe Youl summarise the clinical evidence base for all moderate and high-risk requirements from Standard 5. Learn why education on the new Standard 6 - Food and Nutrition can safeguard against significant health risks resulting from poor nutrition and hydration. Finally, understand how Standard 7 - The Residential Community closely aligns with National Mandatory Aged Care Quality Indicators.
